As students enter the upper elementary grades, they continue to be enriched with strong, Christ-centered academics.
One of the most highly anticipated events for our 2nd grade students is their First Holy Communion. Like all students at SJSR, rigorous, daily religious instruction helps to foster a love and understanding of Jesus at an age-appropriate level, and prepares them to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist in the Spring.
Our 3rd and 4th grade students participate in many project-based learning activities throughout the year, our most notable being the Invention Convention in the Fall, and the Wax Museum in the Spring.
3rd and 4th grade students also receive Spanish instruction 4 times a week from our 2nd grade teacher and native Spanish-speaker, Ms. Ines Montero. Not only do students learn basic vocabulary and grammar, but also traditions and culture.
